A free draw and guess game to play online with friends

Draw and Guess is the classic drawing guessing game, made for the phones already in everyone's pocket. One player draws, the drawing appears live on everyone else's screen, and they race to type the answer. It is free, it runs in the browser with no download, and it is multiplayer from the first tap: create a room, share the code, and start drawing.

Like Pictionary online, on everyone's own phone

If you have ever played Pictionary at a party, you already know how to play: guess the drawing before the clock runs out. Online, nobody has to crowd round one sketchpad. Every guesser sees the drawing on their own screen, a near miss tells only you that you are close, letter hints appear as the clock runs down, and a turn ends the moment everyone has it. (Draw and Guess is our own game, not made by or affiliated with Mattel.)

For big groups, classrooms and team building

A drawing game for a large group usually means teams, a whiteboard and one person drawing while everyone shouts. Here everyone plays at once on their own device and every player gets a turn to draw. Put the drawing on a TV or a projector for the room, play it as a classroom drawing game with words a class can draw, or share the link on a Microsoft Teams, Zoom or Discord call for virtual team building. Two people can play too.

Words to draw

Each turn the drawer picks from three words: an easy one (a pizza, a kite), a medium one (a lighthouse, a dinosaur) or a hard one (a snowball fight, raining cats and dogs). Want ideas for a game on paper? See every word in the game on our Pictionary words page, with a random word generator and a printable list.

Frequently asked questions

Is Draw and Guess free, with no download?

Yes. It is a free drawing game you play online in the browser: no download, no app and no sign-up. Create a room, share the 4-letter code or the link, and everyone joins on their own phone, tablet or laptop.

How do you play a draw and guess game?

Players take turns drawing. The drawer picks one of three words (easy, medium or hard) and draws it; the drawing appears live on everyone else's screen and they type guesses. A right guess scores up to 100 points, more the faster you get it, and the drawer scores for every player who gets it. Letter hints appear as the clock runs down. Highest score after everyone has drawn wins.

Can you play Pictionary online with friends?

Yes. Draw and Guess is a Pictionary-style drawing game made for playing online with friends: one person draws on their screen and everyone else guesses on theirs, whether you are in the same room or on a call. It is our own game and is not made by or affiliated with Mattel, the makers of Pictionary.

Is it like skribbl.io?

It is the same kind of drawing guessing game as skribbl.io: one player draws, the rest race to guess the word. Draw and Guess is built for phones first, rooms are private by code, the drawing can go on a TV for the whole room, and there is a word list made for families and classes. It is not affiliated with skribbl.io.

How many players do you need? Can 2 people play?

Two is enough: one draws and the other guesses, then you swap. It is at its best with 4 to 10, and a room takes up to 20 free (bigger rooms with a plan), so it works for parties, classes and whole teams. Every player gets a turn to draw.

How do you play with a large group or a class?

Everyone plays on their own device, so a big group needs no paper, no teams and no whiteboard. Turns go round the room automatically (once each for big groups, twice each up to 6 players), and the host can put the drawing on a TV or a projector with "Put it on the big screen" so the whole room watches it appear.

Can we play on Zoom, Microsoft Teams or Discord?

Yes. Share the room link in the chat and everyone draws and guesses in their own browser while you talk on the call. It works as a quick virtual team-building game for remote teams.

Is it OK for kids and classrooms?

Yes. The words are everyday things a family or a class can draw, like a pizza, a rocket or a snowman, and the hard ones are fun scenes like a snowball fight. Guesses that look like an email address or a phone number are never shown to other players, and rude words are starred.

Where can I find words to draw?

The game picks the words for you. For a paper game, or ideas of your own, our Pictionary words page lists every word in the game, easy, medium and hard, with a random word generator and a printable list.

How long does a game take?

Each turn lasts 60, 80 or 100 seconds (the host chooses), and ends early when everyone has guessed. Four players drawing twice each take about 10 to 15 minutes.
