A free daily estimation game

Daily Guesstimate gives you three questions a day with a number for an answer: how many, how far, how tall, what year. Nobody knows these exactly, so it is all about a good estimate. Type your guess and the answer appears straight away, with your points and a scale showing how close you came.

Then comes the twist: you see the herd’s guess, the middle guess of everyone who played today, and how many players you beat. Crowds are famously good at estimating, so beating the herd is the real win. Come back daily to keep your streak and share your score grid.

Frequently asked questions

What is Daily Guesstimate?

A free daily estimation game. Every day there are three questions with a number for an answer, like how tall the Eiffel Tower is or how many bones are in your hand. Type your best guess and see the real answer, how many points you scored and how your guess compared with everyone else’s.

How does the scoring work?

Each question is worth up to 100 points. What counts is how far off you are as a ratio, so guessing double the answer scores 70 whether the answer is 7 or 7 million, and being ten times off scores nothing. For “what year” questions it is years off: 10 years out scores 80, and 50 or more scores nothing.

What does “beat the herd” mean?

After you guess, you see the herd’s guess: the middle guess of everyone who played today. If your guess was closer to the real answer than the herd’s, you beat the herd. Crowds are often surprisingly good at this, so it is harder than it sounds.

Is it free? Do I need an account?

It is completely free, with no download and no signup. Your streak is saved on your device, and a new set of questions arrives every day at midnight UTC.

Can I change a guess?

No. Your first guess for each question is the one that counts, so the answer you see right after can never be used to correct it. If you leave halfway, your guesses are kept and you can pick up where you stopped.
